Shea butter is a natural fat extracted from the nuts of the shea tree, also called Karité tree, a typical African Savannah tree. Shea butter contains fatty acids such as oleic acid, stearic acid, linoleic acid, beeneic acid, cinnamic acid and palmitic acid. The unique fatty acid profile of this Shea butter combined with its high content of non-saponifiable fats gives it a very softening effect, especially for very dry skin. It is also known for its positive contribution to skin elasticity. It is rich in vitamin F, known for its restorative effect on the skin. It stimulates cellular regeneration and growth. Shea butter melts at a temperature of 31 degrees Celsius, which makes it very easy to apply to the skin and penetrates quickly.

Pure shea butter as skin care

The butter is made without the addition of water. This gives you a really pure, undiluted product. Applying the body butter is easier if your hands are warm. Take some body butter out of the jar (possibly with the help of a spatula) and let it melt between your fingers before applying it. This way it spreads better.

Pure shea butter as hair mask

The butter is also very suitable as hair mask. Shea butter is a natural conditioner: it improves the hair structure, moisturises and stimulates hair growth. Use: Apply a little to dry hair. Start at the roots and work your way to the ends. Massage well, comb through and leave on for ten minutes to overnight. Then wash it out. Use as often as necessary depending on hair type. Can also be used as a conditioner, apply a small amount after shampooing, allow to soak in and rinse out. For extra dry and frizzy hair, apply a small amount (really only a tiny amount) to clean hair before styling.
